The Cycle Time Breakdown Summary graph displays two types of data.
- The total percentage of time invested in each stage of the development cycle for the selected period.
- And the average cycle time associated with each stage for the selected period.
The circle on the left considers all the stages of your development cycle and displays their respective distribution for the selected period. The section on the right shows the three stages that had the most significant portion of time invested with their two statistics, i.e. the percentage of time invested and the average cycle time.
According to the example below, considering a period of 3 months, 57.53% of the time was invested in the In progress stage. For this calculation, all the time spent in this step for each of the items processed (thus all the bugs, all the stories, etc.) during the period is added up, and then a percentage is assigned according to the period selected (in this case, 3 months).
As for the average cycle time for this step during this period, i.e. the average time that all the processed items took to complete this step of the development cycle in the last 3 months, we talk about 2 days 4 hours.
