The Time Investment Summary graph displays two types of data.
- The total percentage of time invested for each item type for the selected period.
- And the average cycle time associated with each item type for the selected period.
The circle visible on the left considers all item types and displays their respective distribution for the selected period. The section on the right shows the three types that had the most significant portion of time invested with their two statistics, i.e., percentage of time invested and average cycle time.
According to the example below, considering a period of 3 months, 22.13% of the time was invested in the Bug item type. For this calculation, all the processing time of the bug items is added up, then a percentage is assigned according to the selected period (in this case, 3 months).
As for the average cycle time for this type of item during this period, i.e. the average time it took the bug items to complete the development cycle in the last 3 months, we talk about 1d 15 hours.
Psst! In the case of bug items, be careful not to confuse the percentage used here with the one visible in the graph Issue type time investment, which is an average of the percentage of time invested on bugs per week or per iteration.
